• The Premium Perfumery: This is a new area for high-end, established brands and new products from around the world. In addition, there will be plenty of evening events designed to build a bridge between the show and the city: • Premio Accademia del Profumo with prestigious awards recognizing the best fragrances launched during 2012 in Italy similar to the FiFis in the United States will be held on the evening of March 8 • A top-secret high-profile event linking fashion and beauty will be unveiled on March 9 SPECIAL CONFERENCES Sessions start at 11 a.m. on March 8 and will be held throughout the day. Trend presentations include a focus on Japan, digital media, distribution and merchandising. COUNTRY PAVILIONS There will be significant country-pavilion participation at this year's show with two prominent new entries: India and Colombia. There will be about 200 U.S. companies exhibiting at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna—mostly in the U.S. pavilion. For the second consecutive year, there will also be a California pavilion with companies from there. There were 11 companies in it at last year's show, and there should be plenty more this year. The trademission export initiative is being organized by the Center for International Trade Development in Long Beach, California. Californiabased suppliers: Note that the final slots were filling up fast, but it might be worth a quick check. COSMOPACK BOLOGNA 2013 This "show within the show" will feature three pavilions—that number is new— in about 129,000 square feet of space. Show officials anticipate more than 330 exhibitors from around the world. It's for attendees interested in the production process, finding new materials, 48 February 2013 | beautystorebusiness.com formulating new textures, designing production equipment, and packaging—including those seeking graphics and designs. On the morning of March 7 a regulatory technical meeting organized by SoGeCos and UNIPRO will take place. This meeting is to update people from all over the world about the new European regulations for cosmetic products. A NEW WORLD FOR BEAUTY Have you seen the new advertising campaign for the show? Check it out on page 24 and at beautystorebusiness.com. The well-known Leo Burnett agency was commissioned to develop communications for the 2013 and 2014 editions of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna. The campaign promotes Cosmoprof's worldwide platform—not only in Bologna (pinky peach), but also in Las Vegas (turquoise) and Hong Kong (red). The agency's creative department has portrayed the event as a beautiful flower blossoming and growing. It's a visual metaphor for Cosmoprof's prestige, which emphasizes the growth of the beauty business as well as the concept of pure, ideal beauty promoted by the show.
