From holographics to long-lasting
lip formulas, our guide highlights
what's hot in lipsticks, glosses
and lip care!
by Karen Wilhelmsen
e've seen holographic highlighters making waves this year
as one of the biggest trends, but Paige Perry, Sigma Beauty's
events strategist, says to expect to see a rise in holographic
lip products as well.
"We're going to be seeing a lot more glitters and holographics versus
metallics this year like glitter lips, shadows and highlighters. Holographic
lip products and highlighters are also going to dominate the industry,"
Perry says. Additionally, she predicts that creamy, long-lasting lip formulas
and glosses will make headway over the currently popular matte liquid
lipsticks in the near future.
Known for their innovative products, Lime Crime's founder and CEO
Doe Deere also agrees that sparkles are making a comeback, saying,
"Fun and unusual lips are the name of the game in 2017—except this
time it's all about textures." Lime Crime's lip toppers, called Diamond
Crushers, are a great example to achieve this look since they can be
applied over matte shades for a glimmering finish with more texture that
also seals in the formula.
When it comes to finding inspiration for new products, Deere says, "I
love fashion and it inspires me in many different ways, usually in packaging."
In fact, she incorporated a floral-on-black print inspired by a runway look
onto the packaging sleeve of Lime Crime's Perlees Lipstick.
Here we show you the hottest lipsticks, glosses and treatments on the
market so that your customers can find, or custom blend, their perfect shade.
