Beauty Systems Group Picks Up Three New Lines IT'S TIME TO CHECK IN ON SALON/ spa-products super distributor Beauty Sys- tems Group at parent company Sally Beauty Holdings, based in Denton, Texas. First, there's this from the SBH financial results reported Nov. 12 on its fourth quarter and fiscal year 2015 that ended Sept. 30: • Fiscal 2015 fourth quarter: Same-store sales growth of 7.4%, vs. 3.8% in its fiscal 2014 fourth quarter. "Our BSG business achieved a record comp of 7.4%, leading to strong operating performance," SBH president and CEO Chris Brickman told financial analysts in a Nov. 12 earnings call [earnings-call transcript by Seeking Alpha, seekingalpha.com, used]. • Fiscal 2015: Same-store sales growth of 5.7%, vs. 3.5% in fiscal 2014. Sales of $1.5 billion, up 4.2% from $1.4 billion in fiscal 2014. Sales growth in the store business was 5.5%, and sales growth in the full-service business was 1.7%. Net store base increased by 29, or 2.3%, for a total store count of 1,294 (including 157 franchised locations). Total BSG distributor sales consultants at the end of fiscal 2015 were 958, vs. 981 at the end of fiscal 2014. Now, here are three recent BSG salon/ spa-products distribution news items: ✔ As of November, the "best of the best" from Biotone became available through CosmoProf stores and distributor sales consultants throughout the United States, at cosmoprofbeauty.com, and at participat- ing Armstrong McCall stores. "Through this new agreement CosmoProf hopes to be able to service a broader audience of licensed massage therapists in addition to our existing licensed cosmetologists, nail tech- nicians, estheticians and students," says Stacy Gaspard, CosmoProf vice president of merchandising. ✔ Bosley Professional Strength announced Nov. 6 the addition of CosmoProf/Armstrong McCall, which joins its current distributors. "We want to ensure that people struggling with fine, thinning hair can find the solutions that they need more easily," states Eric McLemore, Bosley Professional Strength president. "We are very excited about this new partnership and opportunity." ✔ Beauty & Pin-Ups announced BSG as its North American distributor during an Oct. 22 launch event in Dallas. It fea- tured a pin-ups-through-the-decades hair and fashion runway show and welcome speeches from Kathy Ireland and Best Buddies International's Anthony Ken- nedy Shriver, as well as a demonstration of Beauty & Pin-Ups' newest product, The Iron, by Priel Maman. "We were honored to be there and to announce the extraor- dinary opportunity to work with Beauty Systems Group and Armstrong McCall," notes Kenny Kahn, Beauty & Pin-Ups CEO.
