100 January 2016 | beautystorebusiness.com News CPNA TO ADD MORE SHOW HOURS AND CHANGE MEETING ROOMS HOURS NEXT JULY Based on many requests from attendees as well as exhibitors for more time to meet and conduct business, Cosmoprof North America 2016 will have one more hour that its trade-show floor will be open on both the second and third days, show officials have told Beauty Store Business. Each of those days the show floor will open up one hour earlier than at Cosmoprof North America 2015. CPNA 2016 will take place July 24-26 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The Professional Beauty Association's PBA Beauty Week—including City of Hope's 2016 Spirit of Life Award Gala—will take place July 23-26 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino. Show-floor hours for the Monday (July 25 th ) of CPNA 2016 will be from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. On the Monday (July 13 th ) of CPNA 2015, they were from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Show-floor hours for the Tuesday (July 26 th ) of CPNA 2016 will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. On the Tuesday (July 14 th ) of CPNA 2015, they were from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Shows-floor hours for the Sunday (July 24 th ) of CPNA 2016 will remain the same as the Sunday (July 12 th ) of CPNA 2015: from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. The new hours translate into 23 hours that the show floor will be open—slightly more than a 9.5% increase in total hours. In addition, the on-the-floor meeting rooms at CPNA 2016 will be open during the exact same hours as the new show-floor hours, according to show officials. That is, they will not be open before nor after the show-floor hours. At CPNA 2015, the on-the-floor meeting rooms were open at 7 a.m. every day. On the Sunday and Monday of CPNA 2015, they closed at 7 p.m. On the Tuesday of CPNA 2015, they closed at 3 p.m.—the same time that the show floor did. IRONS RECALLED DUE TO BURN HAZARD T3 is recalling Twirl 360 Curling Irons due to a burn hazard, reported the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (U.S. CPSC Recall Number 16-026) in early November. The clamp can detach while in use, posing a burn hazard to consumers, according to the CPSC. The recall involves T3 Twirl 360 Motion-Sensing Auto- Rotating 1.25 inch Curling Irons. The curling irons have a white plastic handle, a white metal rotating heat barrel and clamp, and a rose-gold colored grip. Model number 76570 is printed on the label that is placed on the handle of the tool, and T3 is printed on the curling iron's barrel. About 8,400 were sold in the United States. (About 800 were also sold in Canada.) They were sold at Nordstrom and Sephora stores and professional beauty supply distributors nationwide from December 2014 through October 2015. Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled curling irons and contact T3 for a prepaid shipping box to return the curling iron for a free repair. ■ 14 AWARDS PRESENTED BY INDIE BEAUTY EXPO The winners of the Best In Show Awards from the inaugural Indie Beauty Expo, which took place last August in New York City, highlight many of the hottest indie beauty brands on the market. Sally Beauty Supply will deploy Revionics Price Optimization, which includes price management, strategic price simulation and optimization, across all product categories.
