68 September 2015 | beautystorebusiness.com News Cosmoprof North America enjoyed a record-breaking show— in both attendance and the number of exhibitors—during its 13 th edition of the event July 12-14 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. More than 30,000 people attended and more than 1,000 exhibitors from 39 countries showed their goods. The event encompassed more than 250,000 square feet and furthered its reputation as the leading beauty trade show in North America every year. A major highlight was the introduction of special areas and programs, including Discover Scent and Tones of Beauty. Discover Scent on the Beauty Avenue featured 13 companies representing artisanal high-end fragrances and fragrance suppliers and was developed in partner- ship with Sniffapalooza. To support the new focus on fragrance, CPNA also partnered with Air Aroma, which developed a custom fragrance that was piped into several areas of the exhibition. Tones of Beauty catered to the growing multicultural beauty market. Ten brands across skin, hair, cosmetics, fragrance and lifestyle were curated by Corey Huggins of love, Aunt Bonnie to exhibit as innovators in the polyethnic market. There was also a strong international presence featuring country pavilions representing beauty from Australia, Brazil, China/Taiwan, Ecuador, Italy, Pakistan, Peru, South Korea and Spain. The event hosted 356 international exhibitors. Some of the major retailers checking out the newest and best in beauty were Barney's NY, ULTA Beauty, C.O. Bigelow, Apothia, Duane Reade, HSN, Kohl's, Pharmaca, Amazon.com, Beauty.com, Beauty Bar, Murale, MAS Global and CHALHOUB Group. In addition—and unique to CPNA—leading TV shopping channels EVINE Live, HSN and QVC auditioned 22 select brands on-site to find their next winning on-air products. Courtesy of drom Fragrances, mycoocoon and Pulsar, CPNA's Interactive Area boasted a mood-altering multisen- sorial experience that married the visual (chromatherapy) with scent (fragrances that match the color moods) and the auditory sense (music to match the color moods). Additionally, the Interactive Technology Area offered unique exhibits from FaceCake Marketing Technologies, Good Apple Digital and hone. More than 1,500 people took advantage of education conferences, including two that Beauty Store Business was involved with: "Tour Las Vegas' Best Beauty Retailers" and "Beauty Gone: The Online Influencers." Cosmoprof North America will return to the Mandalay Bay Convention Center for its 2016 event July 24-26. The Professional Beauty Association's PBA Beauty Week 2016 is July 23-26 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.
