We selected these enticing products from an extensive range of bath & body, cosmetics, fragrances, beauty accessories and more. THE LATEST INNOVATIONS IN BEAUTY, PERSONAL-CARE AND WELLNESS products lured beauty buyers and retailers to the recent EXTRACTS show one of the 10 divisions presented at the New York International Gift Fair. The winter 2013 edition of EXTRACTS was held Jan. 27 through 30 at New York Citys bustling Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The showwhich spotlighted the latest products and trends in perfumes and fragrancesalso boasted a stellar range of cosmetics, skin care, and bath & body products. As always, an extensive collection of candles was part of the mix. Captivating packaging and alluring scents certainly tantalized show attendees. Among some of the standout debuts were a few fragrance jewelry collections, specifically Lisa Hoffman Beautys stylish necklaces, earrings and pendants that emit scent from dangling charms. Soap Baubles also unveiled its glycerin soaps, which were designed to resemble a string of semiprecious stones. Strung on silk, the soap gems debut in the form of fun bracelets and necklaces, which can be worn in the bath or displayed as a decorative soap on a rope. As for trends, a current focus on wellness is still driving the long popular food and flavor themesmore specifically to healthy food themes. Healthy ingredients and flavors are showing up in personal care, providing skin benefits as well as fragrance character, says Pam Helms, chief innovation officer, The Caldrea Co. Teas [in] green, white and black varieties [have] a long history of benefits and ritual. [Theyre] having a resurgence in personal care. Nut oils and nut milks, especially almond, are quite popular as well. Though not technically a nut, coconut has a nice health halo related to hydration plus a comforting scent that updates vanilla. Rediscovered beauty remedies from honey, rice and chia are naturally caring and important right now. Kicking things up a notch was FarmHouse Freshs Bourbon Bubbler and Watermelon Basil Vodkatini scrubs. We use many ingredients from farms in the United States, including organic pumpkin puree from Oregon and Kentucky-made whiskey, adds Shannon McLinden, CEO of FarmHouse Fresh. 6 May 2013 | beautystorebusiness.com Image and logo courtesy of EXTRACTS by Regina Molaro
