Page 12 of 51 | June 2019 11 Hyaluronic Acid Hyaluronic acid continues to be a trending ingredient, especially with established natural skincare brands. At MyChelle Dermaceuticals, we loved the Ultra Hyaluronic Beauty Mist, which instantly revived our skin, taxed by the indoor air environment. Hyalogic, a natural beauty brand that makes hyaluronic acid skincare products exclusively, showed us their high-quality Pure HA Serum, which delivers instant, penetrating hydration. CBD Of course, CBD and hemp had a huge presence in beauty–almost requisite for just about every brand. Derma E had a lovely new Arnica Warming Sore Muscle Rub with hemp seed and pepper- mint oils. (Also worth mentioning is Derma E's new, beautifully packaged, Shea Body Lotions available in five luscious scents like Rosehip & Almond and Jasmine & Vanilla.) Another CBD skincare standout includes a brand called Sagely, which features two CBD- infused lines: Relief & Recovery and Tranquility. Both lines offer body lotion, supplements, a spray and an essential oil, roll-on blend. Also worth mentioning, reputable Millcreek Botanicals launched its complete haircare and bodycare line called Hemp. And Humble Brands now offers Organic Hemp CBD natural deodorant. This natural brand has just a few ingredients and it actually works all day, which is no small feat. Palo Santo, Frankincense & Vanilla was the standout scent for us. Ayurveda On the main floor, we discovered an Ayurvedic skincare brand, Yogi Bath and Beauty. The brand originally made a name for itself in the natural market with its herbal Ayurvedic teas. Founded by Kamaljit Kaur, the daughter of Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. and Bibiji Inderjit Kaur, Ph.D., who introduced kundalini yoga to the west in 1969, this is a truly authentic brand. We loved the Bath, Body and Massage Oil– a great addition to any beauty store's self-care offerings. Apple Cider Vinegar In natural hair care, we saw many ingredient- driven brands. One trending ingredient is apple cider vinegar (ACV). The Seaweed Bath Co. offers an ACV-based Detox Clarifying Shampoo and Detox Restoring Conditioner. In the new products pavilion, we discovered an exclusive ACV-based haircare brand called Phillip Adam. Created by Canadian hair stylist Phillip Adam, the shampoo and conditioner have a lovely apple scent without a hint of vinegar smell. We tried our samples after the show and found that it made our hair incredibly soft! Charcoal Charcoal continues to be big, especially with consumers jumping on the "anti-pollution" bandwagon, which includes products designed to pull toxins from the skin, scalp, teeth and body. One particular oral care brand called Hello got our attention. With fun packaging and an interesting array of offerings (toothpastes, toothbrushes and a charcoal floss), this brand has mass appeal. Teen and Tween Skin Care Clean skin care and cosmetics for teens and tweens are on the rise. C'est Moi (French for "It's Me") is a great choice for your younger customers. Its gentle skin care is dermatologist tested, hypoallergenic and fragrance-free. Expo West will be back in Anaheim in March, 2020.
