Our first highlight was our 3D collection, a lash term I actually made up (and should have trademarked!). Since I wore three pairs while filming, my lashes always had a "3D" look to them, because they literally were three pairs stacked on top of each other. It took me over 6 months to develop a lash that had this three- dimensional look, on only a single strip. After launching the collection, we sold out of a massive amount of stock, which I anticipated would take six months, in three hours! It was nothing like the glam world had ever seen, and it took off. Many companies now offer "3D Lashes"—but they'll never be the originals. Our most recent collection is our "Band-Less" Col- lection of 3D Lashes. This is a collection of 3D Lashes made on an "invisible" band. Traditionally, our lashes came on a black, cotton band, but this collection comes on a thin, see-through soft band for incredible comfort and all-day wear. As you'll see on our website, the Band-Less Collection is sold out! You are involved in so much, how do you find balance? It's hard, very hard. For years, work was my life. I realized that although success is great, it doesn't always bring happiness. Love, family, friendship: these are the true treasures of life. So on New Year's Eve night of 2015, I vowed to make 2016 more about me, and less about work. I'm now engaged to the most incredible man I've ever met, and am so glad I took the time to add balance into my life. You have to decide to make time to do certain things, and hold yourself accountable to do them. If working out is important to you, sched- ule in workouts, and no matter how much work you have left to do, leave to go do your workout. You have to allow yourself to stay balanced; you can't just live to work. Who are some of the celebrities you work with/ wear your product? Oh my, where do I begin? Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, JLo, Kylie Jenner, Lady Gaga, Chrissy Teigan, Christina Aguilera, Kourtney Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Cassie, Carmen Electra, Lil' Kim, just to name a few. What is a career highlight of yours? I had a fashion show for my cloth- ing line: WantMyLook.com, the fashion show was in New York during New York Fashion Week (NYFW) and I was releasing a collection that I designed for my company. My mom, who is a Persian immigrant living in Texas, had never been to New York City, or to a fashion show. Having her sit front row at NYFW, at her daughter's fashion show, was a pretty great feeling for me. What has been your biggest challenge as a CEO? Firing people, it's so difficult. I feel guilty, but you have to. You are only as strong as your weakest link. If someone isn't carrying their weight, it is unfair to everyone else, and you have to let them go. What do you do in your spare time? Travel, eat, sleep and cuddle with my fiancé. We both work so hard, that when we aren't working it's nice to just be with each other and indulge. Who inspires you? My parents. They came to this country with nothing. They didn't even know English. They managed to put themselves through college, teach themselves Eng- lish and raise three kids all on their own. Whenever I am having a difficult time in life, I think about them and how difficult it must have been for them—and how fortunate I actually am. What is a piece of advice you can offer to entrepre- neurs looking to start their own business? Do it! So many people have so many great ideas for businesses or products that would likely be very successful, but they don't take that first step to start. Do it!
