Beauty Store Business recently sat down with Tavakoli to determine how he stands out in a crowded competitive landscape, and how he plans to further grow this budding beauty-retail giant. Beauty Store Business: Please tell us about your background and how you entered the beauty industry. TAVAKOLI: I was introduced to the industry by my parents. They have been in the business for about 35 years, so I kind of grew up in this industry. My mom was a manicurist, and my par- ents actually opened the first Beauty Collection; they are the original founders. My parents are still actively involved in their own business. They currently own and manage their own Beauty Collection location, independent of me. In a previous life, I used to be a CPA; I practiced for about five years, but I soon realized that I love the beauty industry and wanted to be a part of it.
