News NY NOW OPENS WINTER 2014 REGISTRATION Online registration for NY NOW, the Market for Home & Lifestyle (formerly NYIGF) is now open at nynow.com/register. The winter 2014 market runs Saturday, Feb. 1, through Thursday, Feb. 6, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Pier 94. "We've opened our online registration and our hotel reservation systems ahead of schedule for the winter market," says Christian Falkenberg, NY NOW director and GLM senior vice president. "Attendees who missed the debut of NY NOW in August will enjoy their first exposure to its new collections and dynamic new exhibit floor layout this February." As previously announced, the winter 2014 edition of NY NOW has been extended by one weekday, running Saturday through Thursday in connection with the market's overlap with Super Bowl XVIII, which is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 2, in New Jersey. Hotel reservations also have been opened ahead of schedule, allowing exhibitors and attendees to book early to ensure availability and the best pricing. Market participants can request hotel rooms online at myglmtravel.com. "With 52 million tourists each year and 1.6 million daily commuters, New York City is always busy," adds Falkenberg. "While the overlap with the Super Bowl will make it an even more exciting time to be in New York City, the reality is that the Super Bowl's impact on New York City this February likely will not create any larger crowds than our customers already experienced during the August market." Advance NY NOW registration—which is free to qualified retailers—is available online through Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 11:59 p.m. EST. After that date, registration costs $60 for qualified buyers. Suppliers to the trade as well as industry guests can register for $175 through Jan. 28, and for $200 at the show site. Upon completion of online registration, participants will receive a bar code, which is redeemable for a badge at any of the NY NOW self-registration terminals at the Javits Center and Pier 94. NY NOW's four comprehensive collections—HOME, LIFESTYLE, HANDMADE and NEW!—will encompass 100,000 products in 400-plus product categories. LIFESTYLE includes the Personal Care + Wellness section Feb. 2-6 at the Javits Center, Level 1. Some 35,000 attendees from all 50 states and more than 80 countries are expected to attend the winter 2014 market. More information is available at nynow.com.
